Good faith estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost.

Learn more

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

Personalized treatment plan

We will have a conversation about your health to come up with a personalized treatment plan for you. There are different options to consider if you are recovering from an injury, or seeking wellness care. Your insurance provider can also be a factor.

Injury treatment plans

After an injury occurs, treatments will be more frequent to help the body heal faster. This is specific to each patient. If the recommended treatment plan doesn’t work for you, please discuss it with Dr. Hoops.

Maintenance treatment plans

After the injury has healed, you have the choice to call when you need it or transition into maintenance care. Maintenance care means coming in about every 4-6 weeks for a checkup. Maintenance helps to reduce injury and allows you to heal faster if you are injured. The choice is up to you!

How chiropractic fits in with regular medical care

Dr. Hoops firmly believes in working with your other providers to your benefit. Your healthcare team should work together to get the best results for you. If you have a condition that Dr. Hoops cannot treat or your progress stalls, she will help you determine your next steps.

Questions are encouraged!

It’s natural to have questions about chiropractic adjustments. We encourage questions, so please ask!

Adjustment noise

Sometimes adjustments make noise, sometimes it doesn’t have to. The sound is the air bubble forming in the joint and occurs mainly when the adjustment is fast enough to gap the joint.

How it feels

Most of the time adjustments don’t hurt, but it may be tender. Sometimes you’ll be sore afterwards and is mainly a muscle soreness. This varies by patient.

Alternative / low-impact adjustments

Dr. Hoops is asked a lot if there is an alternative to a manual neck adjustment. Some people don’t like the noise or they can’t relax well. You aren’t alone! She can use an instrument called the Activator to adjust your neck. No noise. No motion. Just make sure to bring it up with her at your initial visit. Activator treatments are safe and effective, and can also be an option for other adjustments.
